Yokohama-born and Santa Monica-raised footwear designer Taka Hayashi has infused a variety of styles into the Vans Vault, Syndicate, and California collections. His Native American design influences are well documented; a number of projects incorporate moccasin-like designs, geometric leatherwork, decorative beading, and horsehair. The now-ubiquitous Pendleton blanket is added to that list with this set of Hi and Lo Vans Vault LX. Both feature natural brown oiled leather and are stitched together with white thread; the Hi has Taka signature leather stamping around the toe, and brown leather laces. If you want to jump on the Indian Quilt trend, this is probably the most casual Pendleton collaboration you can work in this Winter. Check out both versions after the jump.
